Food & Wine | Loveblock Wines comes to Canada & I’m in love

Living the life I do alongside my #DoTheDaniel adventures offers me many opportunities to try and experience so many amazing things. One of my favourite parts of my “job” is the ability to try new wines from around the world and then tell you all about them. One of those brands I have recently been introduced to is Loveblock Wines from New Zealand. Finally available in Canada, I have truly fallen in love with the concept from grape to bottle and I can’t wait for you to do the same! Come and see why Loveblock Wines are worth that first sip the next time you are in the market for beautiful wine with a beautiful story.

Wine makers Erica & Kim

Although I don’t want to get into the drama of how Loveblock Wines came into being, I’m sure if you go Google it you’ll understand that their beginnings were not easy and they fought very hard for their brand and their beliefs. New Zealand wines are typically quite airy in their flavours with natural hints of citrus and tropical flavours. Known for their acidic Sauvignon Blanc and with International Wine Houses leading the trend, they have blazed their way onto the wine map as a leading contender in New World Wine production.

Acclaimed wine industry veterans Erica and Kim continue to put New Zealand on the winemaking map with the launch of their Loveblock brand. Loveblock marks a radical departure for the winemaking duo as they take a sustainable, artisanal approach, focusing on smaller scale production. The Loveblock vineyards are managed by a low intervention regime – some of the vineyards are certified organic, and some are sustainably accredited. Loveblock’s inaugural release, a 2012 Sauvignon Blanc, is currently available at Vintages (LCBO).”

about loveblock

I am genuinely in love with their love, as cheesy as that sounds, and the INCREDIBLE product they have created. Kim & Erica have clearly shown that in a world of mass produced corporate wineries, the small producers of the world can create something of equal if not BETTER quality. I proudly support Loveblock Wines and believe that you should do the same.

For a few tasting notes, why not check out the YouTube video for the Sauvignon Blanc below. Don’t worry, I had to re-watch it a few times to get past a VERY thick New Zealand accent. Catherine probably got it right away.

Make sure when you’re in the mood for a beautiful, refreshing and loveable bottle of wine to head out and pick up the iconic Loveblock Wines.

Follow & Tweet @LoveblockWine and tell them if their wine made you fall in love with it. Tag @DoTheDaniel to share your experiences with this one of kind brand and show me how you enjoyed your first sip, but certainly not your last.

Please remember to enjoy responsibly and never drink and drive.
