Food & Wine | Neal Brothers Foods bold new snacks

If there is one thing I am a sucker for, it’s salty snacks. I enjoy sweet and I crave spicy, but only something salty can scratch that snack itch when I get a craving. There is something so satisfying about a potato chip in my mind. I wish I could say that I can have just one (avoiding THAT slogan because I don’t want to get sued)… but when Julio & I find a flavour and brand we love, that’s usually never the case. It’s why when we had the opportunity to try out the new Srirachup and Delhi-licious Kettle Chips flavours by Neal Brothers Foods, I quite literally jumped at the chance. Let me tell you all about these new flavours and their celebrity stories!

This isn’t the first time, nor will it be the last, that I speak to the amazing products from Neal Brothers Foods. This Canadian company certainly embodies the ideals and ethics of a small independent while growing with each new day into their very own power house food distribution brand.

“We will always hold true to our humble beginnings by offering the freshest ingredients in our foods. Where we can, we offer products made from organic ingredients to help sustain our environment and keep us healthy and chemical free. We also strongly believe in the Fair Trade movement and the positive impact it has on millions of poor farmers around the world. We distribute many Fair Trade items such as Kicking Horse coffee and TCHO chocolate.”

With these two new exxciting snacks, we have officially stepped into the world of celebrity collaborations. Alongside THE Chef Chuck Hughes (who not only can cook but is nice on the eyes as well), The Srirachup flavour was born. Travel out west to Vancouver with the incredible Vikram Vij and you’ve got the second flavour of Delhi-licious, inspired by authentic Indian cuisine and flavours. Both bold additions to the snack world will have you tantalizing your taste buds.

“To appeal to Canada’s broad diversity and sophisticated taste buds, together they refined the distinctive tastes that capture Vikram Vij’s Masala spice blend and Chuck Hughes’ love of Sriracha with a twist. “

Srirachup Kettle Chips

Chuck Hughes, winner of 2011 Iron Chef, restaurateur, Canadian celebrity chef and TV personality has a long for spicy condiments. Together with the Neal Brothers, they created Srirachup a mix of the sweetness of ketchup with the spice of Sriracha chili sauce.” Sweet & Spicy, this was my favourite flavour and one that I had a hard time sharing. You’ll see why once you take that first bite.

Vikram Vij, owner of Vij’s award winning Indian Restaurant in Vancouver, TV celebrity judge on Recipe to Riches and newest Dragon on CBC’s Dragon’s Den.” Savoury and Salty, this flavour will have you reminiscing on some of the best authentic East Indian cuisine. This certainly will spark conversations with friends and party guests at your next gathering.
