Let me tell you, 2019 was quite the doozy. But I’d like to think that I made the most out of it for sure. Recently, I reconnected with my love of travel and music – and coincidentally, the convergence of the two together. I think that’s why festivals are always such a great time. When I initially heard about Riot Fest, I just knew that I had to go. And it was an added bonus that it was being held in Chicago, a city that was always on my bucket list, so it was a no-brainer. We packed our bags and off we went to the windy city!

Lately I am coming to appreciate the simple things in life. Cuddling on the couch with my husband on a Sunday afternoon, in a pair of sweats, ordering a pizza and watching anime would be my version of heaven. While the world of social media can be deceptively driven by FOMO and Facetune, I am so proud of the fact that Catherine and I work tirelessly to encourage our staff to be real. What the Heck is an Ophthalmologist?

As a certified health professional, I was required to study a variety of different diseases and disorders, including their full aetiology – meaning causes, onset and progression. But, what I learned was only a drop in the ocean compared to what there is to learn in medicine. You see, the human body is quite complex. Don’t worry, I won’t get too sciency here. I mean, I could if you want me to cause I love that stuff. But really though, there are so many different systems at play keeping you alive and functioning – how is it even possible to be an expert in all of them?
